Please help with graphics. (Sorry, but I don't know German)

I apologize, but I have only been to a few German courses and know very little so I must post in English.

The reason for this post is this: I have a US copy of the game and installed it on my PC. It's a AMD Duron 900, 256+128MiBi PC133 SDRAM, ATI RADEON 9250 with 128MiBi VRAM. There seems to be a problem with the graphics. I have played the game on this machine a couple of years ago when it had only the 32MiBi sahred onboard video and 128MiBi SDRAM and worked great. I also had Win98 then and now I run WinXP SP2. I really enjoyed the game but wasn't able to play too much and had to remove it after I only passed the first chapter. I would like to continue now except for this problem: The game loads with some difficulty and after it loads and I start a game some of the graphics of the backgrounds are magenta instead of the normal texture. This both with the shades on and off. Is there a patch or fix to this problem?

Please help if you can.

Hey,

there are several solution-ideas about this problem.
The thing behind seems to be a ATI Graphics Card, but
thats nothing you can change so easyly i think.

One solution is following:

Edit the siege.ini and change the "UseVideo" Tag from False to true.

Another way ist just deactivate cache, delete it, also deactivate debugging mode.

You also may have to start the game several times until megenta is gone.
When it's gone it won't appear while playing again.
But after closing the game it maybe will be there again, so you have to repeat this procedure again and again when you wan't to play the geme without magenta.

Hallo Leute
Ich habe das gleiche Problem wie dragonator... Leider bringen beide tipps bei mir nichts... Debbuging mode deaktivieren bedeutet "debug = 0" oder?
Ich kann nur alle statischen objekte mit pinken umrissen sehen
ich bin hier am verzweifeln...
Aber trotzdem ich bin froh endlich mal eine Community zu diesem fantastischen Spiel gefunden zu haben! Ich hoffe hier kommt noch wer aktiv on! oO

Hab mich nochmal hier weiter umgeschaut dann hab ich den tipp mit dem kompatibilitätsmodus gelesen...hätt ich auch selber drauf kommen können Naja ein toller tag: eine super community gefunden und SoA funktioniert!

Probiere mal das Spiel immer wieder an uns auszuschalten bis es geht.....kann sogar manchmal bis zu 10-15 mal werden,aber selten!
So funktionierts zumindest bei mir
Und ich habe nichts verändert an den Konfigurationen außer dass der Cache aus ist.Soviel zu meinem Hilfeangebot

I often have the same problem but i think all of you, who have these problems, installed an ATI-Driver. (I have also an ATI graphic card and an ATI-Driver.) And this is the thing i do if i have this problem:

I close the programm of the ATI-Driver. But not only in the task list you also have to close it in the Task-Manager at the list of processes (at me the programm is called CLI.EXE).

I hope this will help.

Geht einfach in den Task-Manager und beendet alles was bei euch den Namen CLI.EXE trägt. Dann sollte es funzn.
