Steam/GoG Siege of Avalon Modpaket in neuer Engine (Delphi 10.4)

  • Hi!

I'm sorry, but I'm really confused on how to deal with all the patches and mods available for SoA Anthology.

    I have a GOG version.

    1. So, if I want to play original campaign with more bug fixes, I should just install SoA Anthology Patch 1.18, right? Then I can play OG chapters 1-6 start to finish, but with more features and bugfixes that come with the 1.18 patch?

    2. Then there is Chapter 7. So, if I want to play it, I DON'T have to install SoA Anthology Patch 1.18 first, as it is already included in Kapitel 7? And I just unpack Kapitel 7 into clean GOG SoA installation? If so, will I have to do anything special to start Chapter 7? I mean, I could then start a new game from chapter 1 and continue playing through all the chapters normally and then chapter 7 begins, right?

    3. And also there is this Modpaket on new engine. From what I understand, this includes:

    - Patch 1.18 (current)

    - Chapter 7

    - All fully finished mods for SoA Anthology with full ENG translations

So, basically, I can skip everything else and just install Modpaket unto clean GOG installation, then play through chapters 1-7, and then I can choose to play any of the additional story mods?

I'm new to SoA modding and this all is quite confusing, since I've only played it once long time ago, and couldn't even finish the game, as a Mage was required to finish specific tasks and I played as a Warrior.

I just want to play this beautiful gem of a game on modern PC, start to finish without any of the previous frustrations.

  • Hi,

you've got everything right. In your case, as you want to play the other stories too, you just need to install the Modpaket - the DLC-Style one which is the new engine new engine. The other Modpaket is for the classic Version from 2001 btw.

Regarding your question about chapter 7: It starts right after the endsequence of chapter 6 has finished.

The game can be finished with every class. So you just might have run into a softlock or something back then.

  • Thank you for the quick reply and for all of your work!

As a modder myself, I know how much dedication and effort it takes.

Thanks for clarifying the difference between Modpaket New Engine DLC-Style and the other one, the classic version.

    Cheers!
